MATHS

The question that the teacher gave us for maths was this.

Piri, Maia and Ollie are planning to make pikelets for the afternoon tea. The recipe needs 3/4 cup of milk to make a batch of 25 pikelets. How many cups will the need to make 100 Pikelets?

This is how I solved the Word problem

DINOSAUR

This term we have been learning heaps about dinosaurs. For all this research we have been told to make a presentation  to show to the school. For the Presentation my group has been doing a picture with the names of the dinosaurs on top and then we mix it up, then the students have to match the names of the dinosaurs to the pictures.

For the older students in the senior school we have made a facts list and they have to match the correct fact to the dinosaur.

I am glad we have learnt about dinosaurs because I have not learnt about them before. 

TERM 1 REFLECTION

This term we have been learning alot about Reading, Maths and Writing.We have had a lot of fun learning about all these kind of topics this term.

The first sport that was on was cricket. Cricket was kind of hard for me because I didn't really get cricket that much.These sport were on every Tuesday. The next sport that the school has let us do was touch. Touch was a little bit more understandable for me because it is kinda like rugby but instead you have to touch the opposite team.Touch is the best sport for me this term.

The good things that has happened to use this term is getting to play outside at morning tea with my friend and getting to go on trips with them.The good trips I have been on is going to Butterfly Creek. It was a lot of fun to go and explore with all my friends.

The next thing we did was go to the cricket game. The teams we watched was Pakistan and South Africa. It was alot of fun.

Last thing we did was go to the life caravan, the life caravan was so full with knowledge. In the life caravan we learn lots about what drugs can do to you and  what are the changes that can happen to you in your life.

In class we have been learning heaps about maths, reading and writing. We have learnt heaps this term with the teacher this year and her name is Mrs Tofa. It was lots of fun to learn this term.

In Kiwi Can we have been learning about being kind to others. We also learnt that we have to help others when they are down. We also learnt that we have to show positive communication to others when we are talking to others so that they know we are being nice

In Madd we have been learning to stop being learning to stop bulling others and how we have heaps of different smarts. The other thing that we were talking about was when we have talent and skills. The teacher who is Mr Petia said that talent is different to skills because skills is what you learn and talent is what you were born with.

MADD WORKSHOP

On Tuesday the 1st of April we went to the hall to do another session with the people at the MADD workshop.This workshop was more about helping us to improve and encourage use about our self. It was held in the hall.

Today we were learning mostly about the talent that we have in ourselves. He was talking about people that were born with talent.  He was also talking about the skills and what the difference between  skills and talent.

Mr Petia said that the difference between talents and skills is that talent is what you were born with and skills is what you learn when you grow up and you get good and at that thing you were wanting to be your whole life.

The next thing he was talking was about what 10,000 means. Most of us were thinking it was the time but it was incorrect. Petia said that 10,000 means when you are training for along time and you get good that thing you were wanting to do.

The next thing he was talking about was to not be afraid when you make mistakes because when you make mistakes you learn from them. He asked us what what mistake meant to use and most of the people were saying that we can learn for them and do better the next time we try.

The last card he was talking about was when we showed use the thing and it said that NO is Knowledge. It means to say No to people and say try next time.

After that he sent use to do a little play and our group was talking about playing rugby and the message in that was to make mistakes and learn from them.

Last of all we came back and he was drawing Wonder Woman and it was cool because he was playing a song called happy and it was so awesome. He gave use the drawing so we can hang it up in the class to make it look cool.

walking to tech

Today my dad dropped me off at Glenbrae School to pay my tech fee so i can go to tech today. When i payed my tech money Levi G and Fineasi F came into the office.When they came we went and got there netbooks and then we started walking to tamaki college for our tech.

Learning how to use scratch

Today i logged into scratch.
I found this so interesting because I was playing around with the cat and making him dance.I put cool beats on for this pussy cat.
